Without a doubt, we are supporters of the Latino Equality Alliance. This organization is made up of friends and leaders that are all passionate about the movement in our community. In 2011, their organization became a proud sponsor and financial investor of our documentary. They are an agent of positive cultural, political and  social change in Los Angeles and are helping projects like ours to become visible to people throughout the city.

We would like to endorse the Latino Equality Alliance and ask you to support Love by donating to the Latino Equality Alliance in 2012!

We are Latinos.

We are Equal.

We are Allies.

We are all the Latino Equality Alliance.

LEA was established in November 2008 as a response to the passing of California’s Proposition 8, the anti-equality

marriage ballot initiative. Organizations and individuals that came together to work on the No on Proposition 8 campaign in East Los Angeles founded a formal alliance that will coordinate efforts to increase support of LGBT people and issues by the Latino community.

LEA’s mission is to promote liberty, equality, and justice for the Latino LGBTQ community. Acknowledging that the LGBT Latino community largely lives in Latino communities that might not yet be as LGBT-supportive compared to other geographic areas, one of LEA’s major goals is to transform Latino communities into permanent allies in the LGBT community’s quest for social justice and full civil rights. LEA is also committed to engaging the larger LGBT community about Latino issues and needs.

LEA believes that an investment in LGBT Latino leadership and advocacy is an investment that benefits the entire Gay and Latino community, as LGBT Latinos are the cultural and human bridge that connects these two fast-growing and increasingly influential communities.

Our Work:

Priority Issues: LEA has the following three interweaving priority issues: Marriage Equality, Immigration Reform and Family Acceptance.
